How to Use a Sublimation Printer Basics Guide

I've gotten a ton of questions on how to use a sublimation printer. I allowed I would do a basics companion covering what you need to know to jump into color sublimation. Tête-à-tête, I've loved jumping into this craft medium since I converted an Epson EcoTank printer into a sublimation printer. Plus, numerous of you have gotten your own sublimation printer and started making shirts, mugs, and so much more. Read on if you haven't yet started with sublimation or want some further tips and tricks for your sublimation casting.

Other supplies needed for sublimation:

In addition to a sublimation printer with a sublimation essay installed, you'll also need many other inventories when working with sublimation. I have a partial list below, but you can also see my post on sublimation inventories then. 

 

  • A-Sub Sublimation Paper 

  •  Heat Press or Easy Press ( See my post on which heat press to buy them.) 

  • Sublimation Mat 

  •  Protective Paper 

  •  Heat-Resistant Vid 

  •  Can Doozies or some other sublimation blank (Remember that sublimation needs polyester to work, so you'll want to be sure you have the right type of blank.) 

  •  Froth roll ( See how to use this to help press lines then.) 

  •  Heat-Resistant Gloves 

  •  Fur Comber 

Cricut Design Space

 

This is a free program, and you don’t have to have a Circuit machine to use it. Just download and pull up the program on your computer. You'll need to make sure Explore or Maker is your machine choice to use the print also cut function. Also, watch the videotape above to see how to resize images, or follow along with the simple instructions below. 

 

  •  Upload your image. You can see how by watching the videotape over. 

  •  Fit onto your oil. 

  •  Also, resize your image using either the arrow to drag or codify in exact confines. NOTE, Maximum print also cut size on the Cricut is6.75 ×9.25 elevation. 

  •  Click make it and also continue. 

  •  Use the button to shoot to the printer. Be sure to pick your sublimation printer and uncheck add bleed. You'll also want to use system dialogue in order to make sure your printer settings are correct. 

 There are many benefits to using Cricut Design Space for your printing. This includes fluently being suitable to change the color right in design space by pressing your object and picking a new color. This does only apply to text book or objects you have uploaded as an SVG train. You can literally flatten any textbook or image in this program and use it as a print. The program is also free which is a huge benefit as well.
